I was born
Into blue
A child
Of water
And light...
I swam
Amongst the
Cool comfort
Of cerulean
The rich cobalts
Wrapped me in
Silky ribbons
Warm pool blues
Reflecting my mothers
Egg shell eye shadow
Encompassed me
In love and faith
Turquoise waters
Invited me to explore
All my colorful fish friends
I became
Fancy Finns
The mermaid
Bright blue
From the sky above
Guided my tiny feet
Down paths
Of silky grasses green
Filled with brilliant yellow daffodils
And linen white
Lily of the valley
They were nourished by
Fresh rain blue teardrops from heaven
They grew around
This whimsical child
Like wild fairies at a summers dance
Blue -
berries
Gushed sweetness into my mouth
As I would belly giggle
With my “besty” by my side
Pale blue waters
Welcomed me every morning
As I swam water ballet
With all my friends at the local pool
Navy blue memories
Keep safe
Every hue I carry within
Knowing
I am a child of the water
I was saved by the
Atlantic ocean
And now live out my
Beautiful life
With every shade of tropical blue
Filling up my soul...
